Are the Nationals trying this season?
I don’t mean that sarcastically. I have no idea if they’re going for it or not. Cruz says yes. Many other things don’t.
Rizzo is going to do what he did in the 2021 offseason. Put the team in position to compete if things go well. If not, have assets to deal at the deadline.
If Stras can make 25+ good starts. If Corbin can be a quality pitcher. If Gray can progress and turn in to a quality pitcher. If Kieboom and Robles can figure it out at the plate. Then the Nats have a shot at the playoffs.
But when/if those dominos dont fall, Nelson Cruz should get us a nice return.
