Dodgers sign Tommy Milone to a minor league deal. He’s now 37.

Watch what the Dodgers analytics folks do to remake him into a more effective pitcher,

"Tommy, we've run some data through our computers and analyzed 3 years of video.  Did you realize you are optimally a righty?"

It's amazing he's pitched as long as he has given his stats.

ERA by year:
2022: 5.40
2021: 6.43
2020: 6.69
2019: 4.76
2018: 5.81
2017: 7.63
2016: 5.71

I mean, that's worse than Corbin.  Maybe he's living off that first ever pitch HR he hit for us in his debut in 2011?

Didn’t look it up but he seems a Triple A insurance guy who gets called up occasionally. How much has he pitched over that time?

111 in 2019, but beyond that, less than 30 in most seasons.

Erick Fedde is taking his talents to Korea (South)

Seems like a nice guy. Maybe we can pay him to scout as well

Fedde must have set some kind of record for blowing up one's ERA in the last game of the season.  If going to Korea leaves that behind, then good for him - plus the food's good.

it does seem surprising that there wasn't a team out there that would have taken a flyer on him. I guess it shows you what the rest of the league thought of him.

Imagine if he accidentally signed a contract to play for a NORTH Korean baseball team.

I would have been absolutely fine with continuing my life into the indefinite future having forgotten entirely about Wilmer Difo's existence.

He’s massively prominent in most of the initial World Series win celebration photos

Eh, he's a utility infielder. Every championship team has a utility infielder guy that people recall, although I seem to remember him as off-roster for the post-season.

Wilmer Difo was a good utility guy, and maybe a more useful 2B than Luis Garcia. Certainly a better fielding SS than Garcia was. Maybe a better fielding 2B, as well.

Here is Wilmer: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/difowi01.shtml

There had been some brief discussion here about the wearing of Energy Domes and chanting "Are we not men?  We are Difo!"

The moment passed pretty quickly.

The utility infielder on the WS roster was Cabrera.  Who like Difo is/was a switch-hitter.  Who unlike Difo, occasionally managed to hit a ball out of the infield.  Who, also unlike Difo was also a dick of a teammate and a decent baserunner.
