Brewers are calling up Jackson Reetz. Hit .281/.392/.636 with 22HRs in AA this year after the Nats DFA'd him last year.

Ironically, he replaces Pedro Severino who was DFA'd yesterday.

I actually saw him a couple times this year.  He didn't look bad, but the dinger I saw him hit was off a guy who's been bounced back down to A+ by now and deserved it.  The NL Central is a bit different.

Nonetheless, glad he made it back.  AA is a tough demotion to take if you've been right on the cusp.

In a piece of news that will surprise exactly nobody, former Nats farmhand and absolute douchebag Derek Dietrich has been suspended for PEDs while in AAA.

Voth chased in the sixth against the Pirates after not being able to record an out. Gave up 3 in 5IP.

Having a career year, albeit modestly.

2017 was better.  Much better defense, similar average.  His OBP is a career best (.345 vs. .320), but he had 19 HRs in 2017 and he's probably not topping 10 this year. Not stealing this year, either. For comparison, fWAR was 3.2 in 2017, 1.4 this year.

There was a thought that the Royals should have moved him earlier this year to take advantage of his defensive rep and his offensive surge when there were signs his D was fading.

Harper backing off his throwing program after experiencing discomfort. Sounds like he’s heading for TJ.

Yea. He will almost certainly DH and if he makes it through the year it will Be TJS after.

Voth took a no hitter into the sixth but could only record one out in the sixth before getting pulled at 80 pitches.

The Os had a 4-run top of the sixth. I suppose the long break between innings didn't help. It was like a cascade failure; he was unhittable, and then suddenly he couldn't get anyone out. The only out he recorded was a long fly ball.

Man, that sucks - I know a lot of people are salty about Harper, but I can't fault the guy for getting paid. I definitely feel bad for any pro athlete who's career gets temporarily derailed with TJS or a similar major repair.

Buffalo is back

would love to sign him as a coach for Ruiz and our other young catchers once he's done playing.

Max at the top for ERA--or is it the bottom?

https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=180&type=8&season=2022&month=0&season1=2021&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&startdate=2021-01-01&enddate=2022-12-31&sort=17,a

Max doesn't seem to get thought of as one of, if not the greatest pitcher of all time, but he really deserves to be in that conversation.

Been at the top of his game for a long time. Luckily he got to DC where the coaching and analytics could take him up a notch.

he's had one year with an ERA over 3.00 in his last 12.
