Ross Detwiler, who apparently plans to pitch until Tom Brady retires signs a minor league deal with the Reds

Detwiler's recent stats look better than most of the Nats' current relievers. And he started five times for Miami last year, with an ERA comparable to Corbin. Smart move by Reds.

I remember like three years ago thinking our system was loaded with backstop talent. And like every guy somehow underperformed the lowest expectation.

I saw Reetz and Read play against each other last night in Birmingham.  Reetz had a line drive double and Read hit an absolute bomb of a homer.  Read's hitting .357 with a .955 OPS and batting cleanup.  Reetz is at .310 with a 1.065 and batted 5th last night.

So I guess there's at least a level they're both good at?  Read is really impressively fat now, by the way.

So you get fat when you give up PEDs?

And so I say, trade Sam Clay to the Reds for Ross Detwiler!

And generally hitting and run scoring are down across the league. Whether it is the balls or weather or short spring training.

Schwarber with 2 HRs off of Max today, Harper with one, and the Mets still beat the Phillies 10-6.

Rendon just hit a HR batting left handed against a position player.

Harper has a “small” UCL tear. He will undergo prp treatment and resume throwing in four weeks. Looks like he’s going to be DH’ng for a while.

I'm no doctor, but I can't see that working out well.  UCL tears often result from high-force rotation of the wrist.  That's what swinging involves.  It'd be worse if he was a righty batter, but try swinging and see what your bottom-hand wrist does.  Then throw a slider and see how similar it is.

Given the numbers he’s putting up it doesn’t seem to be bothering his swing.

The prp injections will help offset the pins some WNFF posters are sticking into their Bryce kewpie dolls.
