Strasburg is working out and throwing at the St James.

It'd be quite a parlay, but a healthy Stras and Harris, along with an effective Corbin, would vastly change the outlook for this team. That, and a decent position player or two on pillow contracts.

Sure. And that’s what they will hope for. If it does not work out trade them at the deadline. Depending on how the prospects develop rinse and repeat in 2023.

Strasburg was throwing a bullpen at my old high school over the weekend as well - my little brother was at the field and his buddy caught him. Said he looked good, but any high schooler seeing a pro like Strasburg would say that.

Stras is my favorite pitcher to watch when he’s on. Hope he still has a few flashes left in him.

I'll consider it a success if he gets to 20 starts in a season.

If we end up in the playoffs while he's still here, I think he becomes the closer. Its probably the only bullpen role he could handle

With the DH turning us into the AL, I'd be happy experimenting with Strasburg as an opener and high leverage reliever. He'll never match the contract, but there are ways to utilize him to help the team win games. I think he'd agree to any role.

The team is rebuilding and playing for a top 5 draft pick. Strasburg should take his time rehabing, he should make sure he's absolutely healthy before starting strenuous baseball activity, and he should feel free to use as much minor league rehab time as the new CBA allows.

Unless he's placed on the IL, he gets no minor league rehab time. He had surgery last July.

I don't think you will have to worry about a pitching limit this year.

Yes, they have to. Unless we're in a situation of less than 100 games, Stras will have to have innings managed. He has basically done nothing for two years.

Strasburg is basically your number 5 starter right now. They'll need to monitor and baby his shoulder for a while. And this doesnt account for the multitude of other injuries he is prone to getting.

He's a sunk cost at this point. He's pretty much the main reason we won't be spending any real money in FA until he's off the books.
