I just heard that Running on Empty was recorded at Merriweather Post

Saw Jackson Browne a couple of weeks back at Wolf Trap.  He talked about how he had worked up "The Load-Out" in a bit of a raw form while they were on tour, and David Lindlay suggested he play it that night as the closing number (they were about to go back out for the encore), so he did it.  It segued into "Stay" of course.  In addition to Running on Empty (song), he also recorded Load-Out/Stay for the Running on Empty LP.

And thus ended the run of fantastic albums by JB.  My personal favorite is Late for the Sky, but all through Running on Empty are the stuff of greatness.

Our 2022 Nationals chance of keeping the 'loss' column to 100 or less... ;)

This came up in my Youtube feed. I can't say I was aware until today that the band was still around. Jeff Keith is looking a lot like Iggy Pop.

Another 50th Anniversary, from one of the giants of electronica. Especially poignant as we lost Schulze, in April... :(

Your thoughts on whether this captures old school GNR?

Sounds more like Dokken than GnR.

Was listening to Bob Seger and the SBB doing traveling man / beautiful loser last night. Still my favorite of his tracks. And he still sounds decent (or at least did three years ago)

I was actually at this concert. I though Axl did a pretty good job on "Salt of the Earth," though improving on Keith Richards' vocals may not be much of an accomplishment. Clapton and John Lee Hooker were highlights, though I don't know if Hooker couldn't remember the words or just was on a free-form blues odyssey. I seem to recall "2000 Light Years From Home" sounding much more ethereal, so maybe the audio equipment or remastering was not up to snuff, or my memory is going.

I waited until last Friday to play this at CCSP.  Out of respect, of course.

With all that's going on, over here, 'no future' seems entirely apposite.... ;)

For Hallowe'en, one of the many versions of "I Put a Spell on You" out there. If Robert Johnson made a bargain with the devil at a crossroads for his talent, it's clear that Samantha Fish is a witch. I wonder if she weighs the same as a duck...

Two for Halloween.

Reaching it's 40th anniversary, this year (what!!!), 'Black Metal' is internationally regarded as the first thrash track. Still sounds great now, but you can't imagine the impact it had back in '82. A young 17 year old American, who was living in the UK at the time, bought it and took it back to the US to play for his friends. They decided that their band should sound like that, changed their name to Metallica, and....

Continuing 'Old Skool', here's some early Kreator, covering Venom's 'Witching Hour'...(if you want to get straight to the music, without the 'Hell's Bell' opening, start at 0:44 seconds...)

Knock, knock, knockin on Dunkin’s door.
I can just picture Dylan walking into a Dunkin in NYC, kind of disheveled, the staff not aware of his music but knowing him as a regular, the customers not staring enough to recognize him, walking up to the counter to order his regular.  Probably doesn't use the app.  Maybe the staff is aware that he's a musician. Perhaps he talks to them about the heritage music of their country of origin or their part of the US.  They may ask him what he's been up to, and, depending on whether he wants to give a straight answer or clown around, he may tell them a bit without letting on too much.  Those that do recognize him give him a bit of space rather than rush him for selfie.

Still incredible that he's outlived everyone in the Traveling Wilbury's except Jeff Lynne (so far at least).
