Just saw a clip of the final Genesis performance from this last weekend. It’s sad to see Phil Collins now. Voice is shot and he had to sit in a chair during performances. I will always remember how great they were when I saw them on a stadium tour in the late 1980s.
Saw em indoors in the early 1980s. They always had two drummers. Phil and Chester someone. Great concert. Give him credit for giving it a shot.

Edit. Chester Thompson. Great sound with the two drummers.

As someone who grew up in South Florida in the 1980s, this is what first comes to mind when I think of Phil Collins:

Here’s a performance of Home by the Sea from sometime in the 1980s I think:

And their 20 minute greatest hits medley from the 1988 Atlantic Records 40th anniversary celebration concert:

The other thing I’ll always remember Phil Collins for is playing in both London and Philly during Live Aid

Phil Collins makes me think of Alex Karras.

My biggest negative for Phil Collins is that he won the Oscar for best song one year with something schmaltzy (maybe "Lion King?") instead of "Blame Canada" from "South Park: Bigger, longer, uncut." Of course, Blame Canada was only one of two great songs from that movie.

No Roger Waters though:

Quote
A week before Russia invaded Ukraine, Waters told an interviewer on Russia Today that talk of a Russian invasion was “bullcrap ... anybody with an IQ above room temperature knows [an invasion] is nonsense”; he has subsequently condemned the invasion calling it “the act of a gangster”, while also condemning “propaganda to demonise Russia”. It’s a subject on which Gilmour won’t be drawn. “Let’s just say I was disappointed and let’s move on. Read into that what you will.”

To mark 23rd April - St George's Day (England's National Day).

The unofficial England National Anthem - the mystical poetry of Blake, set to music by Parry.

funny because Dolly asked that she not be considered.

she changed her mind after finding out that ballots had already been sent out, and after the HoF noted to her that the HoF wasn't specifically for Rock and Roll acts.

Here's the complete list of inductees: Eminem, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Carly Simon, Lionel Richie and Pat Benatar

Still no Styx or Bad Company.

We went to see Everything's first full-band show in about 20 years this past weekend at The Hamilton in D.C. The Pat McGee Band was the opening act. Eddie, from "Eddie from Ohio" was on percussion.

For those of you who frequented the Bayou, or were in college in Virginia in the early 90's, you might have heard of all of these bands. Otherwise, you might have heard of Hooch, which was Everything's only hit around 1998 or so. The show, and the venue, were both fantastic.

wait, Duran is listed twice. Can you check that?

Interesting that it's the eurythmics and not just Annie Lennox

I know this shiitehole is boomer central but gotdamn do you people need to expand ur musical horizons a bit. Guy posting Mozart is cool and all but it doesn’t offset the clowns herre that seem to keep bums like Springsteen and Billy “Eyetalian” Joel touring. Woof.

You can’t even spell White Lines name right. Was hanging out with 9th Wonder the other day. Remembered me from back in the NCCU days.
