Speaking of which, here is Lovecraft describing Olive Garden:
"Cheese Ravioli
A homogeneity characterized its flaxen cast. Bubbling sacks of slime upon a platter scorching. Beware! "

Monday is my mom's birthday, so we're observing it tonight because my brother is in town. I can’t rely on him to pay his share of the tab if we go somewhere, so Ms1995hoo and I will make dinner at my mom's house. I’m making this steak recipe that appeared in the Post a while back, although we're skipping the scallions in favor of mushrooms. Ms1995hoo doesn’t like skirt steak, so instead I got four hanger steaks and doubled the amount of seasoning. I seasoned them earlier today and they’re in the refrigerator. This will be the third time I’ve made this. The first time, a few weeks ago, we didn’t have dark brown sugar and I used light brown instead. I bought dark brown for the second time and I can’t say I noticed that it made much of a difference.

"This was, I was sure, the product of an unholy, eggnog-fueled tryst between a hot dog and a fruitcake"
