I think corneas best course of action would be to try and get a 5 year/$235 million deal ($45m per) or something of that ilk.  He’d set a new aav record and be elible for free agency again at 32 with a strong chance at another $200 million+ deal

Oh great, so then we can boo our own players.
oh, but it's the Christmas season.  Don't you like The Little Drummer Boy?  Should be his walk up song.

add in the $15 million that the Nats will be paying him, and he's making more than those 4 teams before additional commitments.  I can't imagine the Mariners staying that low.

Take away the dead money being paid to Stras, Corbin and Harris...and the Nats could rival of any one of those payrolls...and Max's for that matter...

Soto may make more than the rest of the starting position players himself next year...

Too bad there isn't a mechanism to rent out Soto for $50 million next year while we build things back up.

I’ve been wondering if it’s allowed for mlb teams to rent out prospects to non teams or vice versa if the npb team is out of contention.   Could be a cool development for baseball

makes a ton of sense. Muncy to 2nd, Trea to SS.

Muncy has a torn UCL. He might be a DH at this point

The Jays seem an odd destination as it would move either Freeman or Vlad to DH.
Vlad was born to be a DH.

nice signing for the money, but a bit of a dice roll for a contender

That had a 93 win team that is losing no one, and a Tigers team that has a solid pitching staff

The Twins lost 93 games and replaced Jose Berrios with Dylan Bundy

https://www.boston.com/sports/boston-red-sox/2021/12/02/jackie-bradley-jr-hunter-renfroe/?p1=hp_primary

Hunter Renfroe to the Brewers for JBJ and two fringey prospects.  Nice move for the Brewers, who get the upgrade and save money.  Not 100% sure of what the Sox are trying to do, but this probably means Verdugo to rightfield, opening up left for Schwarber or JD after the lockout.  Also means Plan A is E. Hernandez to 2nd base.

Olney says there are concerns about Correa’s lower back which could explain why didn’t sign anywhere before the lockout.

Correa is an interesting case.  I think some team ultimately will look past any potential physical issues.  Not all lower back problems are created equal.  Do they know what type of lower back issue Correa has?
