Isn't Tampa playing half their season in Montreal?   That doesn't sound ideal for an old guy who can go wherever he wants.
Half there season?? Seriously??? How stupid is MLB :smh:

Now that you mention it, he did say he wanted a West Coast contender at the deadline, so Toronto / BOS / NYY probably are long shots.
The Dodgers. So we swoop in and trade Wander Suero for David Price ans Ryan Pepoit.

Top free agent starter Max Scherzer is expected to make his decision before the impending Dec. 1 lockout. Dodgers, Giants, Angels, Mets among teams in.

I'm guessing he ends up reuniting with Tony in Anaheim.

among those teams, I'd love to see that.  You want to talk about a watchable team?  Trout, Ohtani, Rendon, Max, Walsh.  Now land C Seager.

They need at least one more starting pitcher

They still need one more starting pitcher. Doesnt have to be a mega deal. Jon Gray would do nicely

Sources: Mets have offered Scherzer more than $40 million per year. Length unknown. Doesn’t mean he’ll sign there; that’s still unclear.

There are some MLB execs guessing the favorite for Max Scherzer is the — get this — Mets. And that he’s definitely getting three years— and possibly four.

The #Mets are making progress with Max Scherzer. Have not heard it is final. Deal might be for as much as 4 years if it gets done.

They’re nuts to give Max a four year contract. He was showing signs of wear and tear last season. Good luck to the Mets.

They've got an owner whose wealth dwarfs that of the Lerners. And, who doesn't care about spending it. Sounds pretty good to me.

When has signing aging free agents ever won a team anything?  You win in baseball from good drafting and having a good player development system.  I still can’t see them beating out the Braves.  Maybe a wild card.

Yeah. Rendon and Soto and Turner and Strasburg had nothing to do with the title.  And we lost several years in the playoffs with Max before we won. Singing a 37 year old pitcher to a four year deal is almost as confounding as signing a 33 year old CF to a four year deal. It’s NY and the owner has to make some moves. Meanwhile the Braves still have a better lineup and several good young pitchers.

Braves dont win the World Series without Charlie Morton, Will Smith, and Tyler Matzek
