Watching Astros fans cry again is glorious
They seem to lose a lot at home in the World Series.

I have many friends who are Braves fans. I will be very happy for them to experience what we got to experience two years ago.

Dusty and Astros screw the pooch again.  Couldn’t happen to a better crew.

Well, someone had to win it after that asteroid failed to show up.  Too bad that ATL no longer has an NHL team for synergistic partying  :P

Oh, who am I kidding...no I'm not. This whole thing sucks. There were no winners here.

Dusty: “What can you do, except go home, take a shower, figure out how you're going to come back and win it next year. Look, last year we got one game short of the World Series, and this year we were two games short of the championship. So I guess that's progress.”

The average playoff game this year before the start of the WS was nearly 4 hours.

That's something baseball needs to figure out how to fix.

With 8pm starts, games going past midnight were pretty common.   I always thought it was a shame that my middle school son who played travel baseball at the time and was a big Nats fan wasn't really able to watch hardly any of the NLCS/WS games as he had to be up at 6 for school.   They are really limiting their audience with these long, late games.

Major sports are dealing with at least 3 time zones...hard to make it a perfect fit for them all.

When I lived in Hawaii, Sunday NFL games started at 7:00am, and MNF started at 2:00pm and was over before I got home from work...

starting at 7 PM eastern gets the game over by 11 or so, and on the west coast, it gets the 2nd half of the game in between 6 & 8.  If a game is a blow out, perhaps they don't watch on the west coast, but that's perfect after work bar watching and easy for kids to watch.  This really seems obvious.  The current set up, starting at 8:20 on the east, discourages kids and even adults from starting to watch games if they know they will not be up at the finish.  On top of that, if you are going to cater to a coast, cater to the more populous side of the country.  Vast bulk of teams are in the Eastern and Central time zones so it also works better for most of the fan bases (off the top of my head, only about 8 teams are mountain or pacific - SD, LAD, LAA, SF, OAK, SEA, COL, and AZ).

Watching the NFL games early on Sunday was great. Still had time to do other things.

That depended upon how many beers I already had by noon...

I just remember that our apartment complex got very loud once the Raiders and 49ers and Seahawks games started later in the morning.

I assume everyone likes the London games, then - 09:30 ET start?  But what would everyone make of one-day, limited (40) overs cricket - start at 10:30 and go-on for as long as it takes, usually not finishing before 19:00 - 19:30... ;)

I'd be on my eighth Pimm's Cup and screaming "bowwwwwwwwllllleddd ouuuuuuuuuuut" regardless of what the last batsman actually did by about 1300.  Presumably I'd be doing so outside the ground by about 13:02.

If they got Flintoff out of retirement and mic’d him, then I’d be up for it.
