You should rename Newton "Zim"
You mean “Jonesy”? :mg:

Major league debut for Joan Adon. Adon has an ERA of 4.97 over 21 starts and 105 innings pitched in the minors this year. He has a WHIP of 1.276 and 10.5 K/9. Most of this was at A+ Wilmington. Does it seem a bit rushed to go from A+ to 3 AA starts and 1 AAA start to the show? Is this guy Nuke LaLoosh?

before the deadline pick ups, he was something like our #5 prospect.

So if they lose today they’re out?
no, at worst they are tied with the Mariners or BJs.

Zim is done...I think he just signaled that...
did you folks continue to the park?  I'm glad you are ok, but remember there's help in the stadium if you start to feel something after the shock is off.

Best I remember, Zim hit the first homer in the 2019 World Series. If so, he hit the first Washington home run in a World Series since Fred Schulte, bottom of the 6th, October 7, 1933.

And Zim won the first New Nats game I saw in person, 2006, with a walk-off homer in the 9th. I wish he could play forever.

Zimmerman draws bases-loaded walk, 2-nil Nats.

Sale coming out of the match after 2 1/3.

Chasing Sale in the 3rd is not the script I was expecting.  The bullpen will cough it all up later but that's another story.

did not expect this from Sale.   Bullpen is the Red Sox soft underbelly (Churchillian expression about Sicily).

Reverting to standard form, the Nats end the inning with a double play.

and Adon stumbles on the mound.  Reminds me of Sale.  And Strasburg.  Gotta wonder about the mound.
