I remember that one time we got snow flurries in my home town. Pretty much shut everything down.

There was accumulating snow in Miami once back in the 70s, people were probably crawling around with rolled up dollar bills

That was it - January 19, 1977. There wasn't any accumulation, though. Snow made it as far south as Homestead AFB. I was in Lake Worth, an hour north of Miami.

I think you posted within 1 second of Goudeau's first pitch.

Yes! Lane Thomas!

I hadn't looked at the starting time, but Bob & FP mentioned a rain delay...

I missed the runs.  Scooted back some on the broadcast to watch that now.

Let's see...each degree Celsius is about two degrees in Fahrenheit. Starting Celsius at freezing, or 32F, you are at 44F? Soccer-football weather, but a bit nippy for late September.

Not for Northern England - about par for the course for this time of year. Warmer down south... ;)

MLB should allow teams to carry a 27th man to activate in case of rain delays, since they always seem to burn the SP. Not that it would make much of a difference with this BP.

Well, let's see what we've learned, considering everything after August 1 as an extended tryout. Clay, Voth, Fedde, and Baldonado seem to have pitched themselves off the team. Thompson and Murphy look like AAA relievers, with maybe a chance after more experience.

At least Baldonado started off well enough.  Clay was basically just around to emit CO2

It would be handy if Nolin can become a two-inning reliever.
