Ruiz is really starting to look like the guy the scouting reports showed. I've always liked Garcia and I'm glad he is showing up everyday and giving it his all.

Carter is looking like Kiebust again. Brady House is too far away for a call up anytime before 2024 (and that would be super fast) but Kieboom can at least be a warm body for a while at 3B.

Kieboom looks like he can learn how to field at 3B, but he should have learned how to hit by now.

Realistically speaking, the team needs more pitching than anything else.

I was surprised to read that Chisholm played for Great Britain in the WBC a few years ago.  Well, not that surprised...it is the WBC (ciao, Signore Mike Piazza)

Yeah, the WBC standards are a little odd, especially for countries without a strong baseball tradition but which the MLB apparently hoped to market itself to, like Italy. At least with the Netherlands, Aruba and Curacao are still part of the kingdom, so Dutch Caribbean players fit on that team. But the Bahamas is independent. Elizabeth II is Queen of the Bahamas, but she's also Queen of Canada, and I don't think having Canadian players on a British team would make much sense either.

So on top of language, which side of the road to drive on, gauge of railroads, and system of government, we have the cricket/baseball divide.  Not much overlap there.

This ballpark is kind of soulless without the bad acid trip sculpture in CF and the piranhas behind home plate.  Now it's like Miller Park minus the fans.

Two starting pitchers and a good relief pitcher, plus the usual castoff relievers that Rizzo finds wherever he finds utility infielders.

Maybe it's time to find someplace else for Fedde.

Who starts on opening day?  I'm not seeing a lot of big splashes in the offseason.

Do Brits even really follow cricket much anymore? I generally associate cricket these days with Australia, South Asia and the Caribbean.

Yeah, I think it's kind of somewhere between monster trucks and lacrosse in Britain.  Though it is still pretty big in southern Africa

Alcides Escobar is an interesting bat. He has 76 hits but only 20 of them are for extra bases.

Murphy throws hard but less effectively even than Mason Thompson.

Look at your scorecard, Bob. Nats scored a run in the 7th.
