Just looking at the stats, I'd say he had a few good seasons early on, and then was pretty much the MVP of the expansion Mets, and was then forgotten until 1990 or so, when old baseball hands mentioned him in comparison to that new Frank Thomas guy.

Saturday is "showcase your minor league talent" day at Nats Park.
