FP is way off. There's no way Soto gets even near to doing 100 miles on the base paths in a season.

yes. Every time you score a run, that's only 360' directly. Figure less than 400' when you count for the curve rounding the bases.  Score 100 runs? That's 40 000 feet, or less than 10 miles.

I would go with total bases and even if you count running on fouled balls and running out to the field I don't think he gets near 20 miles

Nolin is a LHP and Freeman a lefty hitter. I'm pretty sure FP specifically referred to the RHP throwing across his body and across the plate and hitting a lefty hitter near the back of his head. Still not a particularly insightful comment, but not the twatwafflery of which you accuse him.
