Tip in by one of the best in the game at that. No fluke.

I thought that they should go with Vanacek but Lavy knew what he was doing.

It’s crazy. Not that they are winning but they are generally controlling the play.

Now that was a fortunate deflection.

Can’t keep taking penalties.

Well maybe they can. Only two shots in the period and both were basically breakaways.

Not scoring on the 5-3 hurt

Yes, it did.  They really generated little to no offense most of the game.  First game Florida has dominated.  Gave them life methinks.

My guess is that the Panthers win the next two. They dominated this game esppecially on the 4 on 4. One commentator mentioned that Carlson( ?) should have raced down the ice rather than take the shot on the empty net.

I don’t think it was Carlson but point taken. If the shot had gone in though game over. Florida is just a better team. Need to steal it with the goalie matchup but Bob has generally been ok. Samsonov has been good also although that first goal last night was bad.

Speaking of infuriating how about the Penguins. Rangers have pooped their pants. And they may just get Boston instead of Carolina next round.

Wasn't that empty net shot with 2:20 to go by Hathaway?  Worthy effort but off the pipe...had it been a couple of cm to the right, lights out.  Damn you Robert Frost.

Took Florida basically playing a perfect game on offense to even the series, and really the difference was about 6 inches on Hathaway's empty net chance.

Caps had a bunch of good looks in the third but tried to be too cute. For some reason on the road they play a little smarter.

They also miss 43 a lot.

What a miserable loss, but no doubt an exciting game to watch. And yeah, unfortunately I think they're done.

Carlson looks befuddled. What a collapse.

I don’t know what to think about period three. My brain tells me the Panthers will win but it has been wrong before.

Welp the Penguins lost. And Crosby was hurt. Not that I would ever root for an injury.

Oh man. You just can’t make mistakes like that in the offensive zone as they are too quick back up the ice.

Looks like Florida just has too much firepower. You get a three goal lead and can’t sit back. Problem is you make mistakes with the puck in the offensive zone and they come right down and score.
