Since I'm a dirty dual-loyalty fan and the 'nucks are my second team, this makes me happy, although I quickly get sad when I realize they're just going to choke spectacularly in the playoffs (if they make it).

Coaches don't normally do that because shootout wins are excluded at one stage of the procedure for breaking ties. Assuming two teams are tied in the standings and have played an equal number of games, the first tiebreaker is regulation wins (exclude both OT and shootout wins). If that doesn't break the tie, the second tiebreaker is "regulation or overtime wins" (exclude only shootout wins), which is shown in the "ROW" column you see in most NHL standings tables.

You won't likely see that in the NHL because the NHL rulebook provides that if you pull your goalie during overtime for any reason other than a delayed penalty and the other team then scores, you forfeit the standings point you would have gotten for an overtime loss. (You can still have a goal scored on you if you pull your goalie for a delayed penalty and then one of your players accidentally puts the puck into his own net. I saw the Hurricanes do that against the Capitals once, but it wasn't in overtime.)

Saw the caps’ echl affiliate play against the predators’ affiliate at the hertz arena in ft myers. I highly recommend catching a game for anyone in the area. Beautiful 7k seat arena and a fantastic experience

Gostisbehere's father was a french jai lai player.

Gostisbehere was born on April 20, 1993, in Pembroke Pines, Florida.[3] His father Regis was born in France, but moved to Florida in the hopes of becoming a professional jai alai player. It was there that he met Gostisbehere’s mother, Christine, who was working at the local jai alai venue. When Gostisbehere was two years old, his father suffered a career-ending eye injury.[4] Gostisbehere’s sister was a figure skater, and he would accompany her at the local ice rink, which sparked his interest in ice hockey.[5] His maternal grandfather, Denis Brodeur, was a Québécois hockey player for a traveling hockey league based in West Palm Beach, Florida, and he began teaching his grandson how to skate when Gostisbehere was three years old.[6]
