Right? No matter how harsh people might be to him he always greeted it with almost amusement, it was really refreshing actually.

He just seemed like a genuinely nice person, I wish I had the opportunity to meet him in person.

I just mean it sucks to go back and see his posts and realize we don’t get to see them anymore.

Late again to a thread about the passing of a beloved member... but always had found memories of Mathguy!

logged in for the first time in forever to make fun of max scherzer (seemingly) signing with the mets and i see this sticky.

we probably argued about politics a few times back in the day.  outside of that i enjoyed his baseball posts and posting with him in GDTs back when i was active.  reading that a member of a board that you've posted on for years passed away reminds you that there are people behind the avatar.  rip brother.

Indeed sad news.  Also, BiL passed last winter.  It's good to see your post.  Lot's of folks have understandably shifted to other on-line forums like Twitter or Reddit for their baseball, and interest fell off a cliff after October 2019.  Nice to see you.  Feel free to post in the long time members check in thread once in a while.  Mentally I keep track of those who are not posting and I wonder.

I stopped by the bar inside the Budweiser CF Lounge or whatever they call it this year, had a chat with Karen, the bartender who's been there a long time.  She of course remembers Brian and Debbie very well, but it was news that Brian had died last year.  It was an emotional moment for her, then I got something stuck in my eyes.    :(

Way late on this, but just dropped in yesterday and Mathguy was an OG here. Some of the best and most informative posts here and, as his chosen name would indicate, corrected my stat math on more than a couple occasions. Very sorry to hear he has passed. If nothing else, I'm glad he made it to see this team win a World Series. He was a loyal fan in the bad years and by everything I saw here, a genuinely good dude.
