Hey, I'm employed Gen X with nothing better to do than watch my team get raped on TV

And I'm a still-employed baby boomer with nothing better to do than listen to the extended faux pas on the radio. Some kind of fandom....

Hernandez is not good at going back for fly balls.

June should be known as the deceptive month. The Nats actually looked good for about a month. Slate was saying trade Cavalli for Bryant back then.

You can usually do the opposite of what Slate says and come out OK

Really good that the Nats didn't pinch-hit for Fedde last inning. Though I guess with Suero as your alternative, it's six-of-one, half-dozen-of-the-other.

I still remember June 2005 and the '05 Overachievers stringing together a marvellous month...until the Fourth of July (following a sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley) when they began a horrendous series against...the Mets.

You know it's bad when the two morons in the booth have nothing better to talk about than their 10 minutes spent with Gio yesterday...

To be fair, June 2019's 18-8 run to get back over .500 did presage good things to come.

In macroeconomic terms, consumption is just as important as production...freak it, I'm retiring  :P

You guys that are able to endure this are stronger than me. I occasionaly look between re-runs of Law and Order ,that I have seen muliple times, to check the score. If Stras is not able to return Rizzo needs to find FOUR SP's as Corbin should be on the BP. This is not a re-tool but a major re-build. Maybe Fedde Ross and Voth workout in the BP next year. Then we have Finnegan , maybe Thompson, McGowin(?) Rainey(?) Machado and Harper. Doesn't look good.

Dave Jageler reminiscing now about Ramon Ortiz' Labour Day near-no-hitter against the Cardinals, 15 years ago...any port in a storm.

...full disclosure: Heineken and various shots can help (as well as having been a charter season ticket holder at the Nats - I've seen [or heard] it all).

I'm just hoping to see something entertaining like Stevenson's tackle of Sisco last night.  The outcome of this game is no longer in doubt.

...grasping at straws in a too-short dominance...Charlie and Dave reminiscing about how the compensatory draft pick we got for Alfonso Soriano became Jordan Zimmermann. Any port in a storm....
