So Oregon is out.  So we can get a third SEC team in. How does Vandy look?  Or maybe Texas can get early designation as an SEC team.  They will bring lots of fans.

Legit Question:

Let's say the line is team A over Team B by 9, and you take Team A at that spread.  Team A loses it's QB and kicker to Covid the morning of the game.  The line flips to Team B over Team A by 3.

What happens to the bet you made?  Are you stuck with it or do you get the new odds like, say, horseracing, when the odds are only locked after all the bets are in "And They're Off!"?

Thanks...I guess that's why they do the injury reports, and why they announce starting pitchers, etc...

The last bet I made was at a blackjack table in Vegas about 10-12 years ago.  I stung Caesars for $4,500 that night/morning, and I hung up my shoe after that...

Good to quit while you are ahead.  That’s a sizable payout for you. And nothing for them.

Mullen fired at Florida. That's coaching vacancies at Florida, LSU, USC, TCU, Virginia Tech. I heard one analyst say there aren't enough elite coaches to fill all of those jobs and I think that's right.

JMU’s coach can write his ticket.

That seems fair as none of the coaches fired was elite.

You’re stuck with the bet you made.

Most bookies go by the closing line than the line at the time of bet

Ok. My on line site does not do that.

I'm rootin' for ol' Khaki Pants today...he's had enough punishment at the expense of that team down south.

I really do love snowy college football games...I may even watch this one in it's entirety...though likely not.

That was a really entertaining SEC game...

Sux that Saban goes home with a win.  Now the committee won't even have to invent a way to get them into the Playoffs.

Can the committee have two big 10 and two sec schools? I don’t know how it will happen, but I expect Cincinnati to get screwed

I actually like Saban.
:couch:

Pats draft a lot of quality from his programs. First LSU, then Alabama

I will root for them over UGa. Handsome Dan > Uga.

Huge Nick Saban admirer here, but it's tough to see Alabama get past Georgia this year given the way they have played against several lesser teams. Bryce Young has certainly earned his preseason millions with that throw to send it into OT though, shades of Tua's big pass to win a national title.

Seeing Michigan in the playoffs would be a novelty for sure, but they can easily faceplant in the Big Ten title game against, um (checks notes) Iowa I guess?

Bedlam is being Bedlam, just a 2 point game in the 4th quarter.

Wow decided by a muffed punt and a no-call on pass interference in the end zone. Oklahoma State headed to the Big 12 championship game.

Bedlam was something like 21-17 a couple minutes into the 2nd quarter.  Lots of O in Oklahoma.

And now Lincoln Riley is the coach at USC. Bob Stoops will coach Oklahoma in their bowl game.

Florida hires Napier from Louisiana. TCU hires the coach from SMU.

LSU, Oklahoma, Washington, Virginia Tech all vacant.

I'd think Bill O'Brien would be a heck of a candidate for a major program, although he may hold out for McDaniels to vacate the OC at NE.

The LSU job is a great job.  My impression is probably Washington is an easier route to a major Bowl, but SEC is just another level in terms of profile of its regular season and even the runner up in the SEC West has a shot at the tournament if it is a 1 loss team.

LSU is in the same division as Alabama and it has high expectations. I'm not sure I'd class that as a great job.

Agreed. Any coaching job where you are let go less than two years after winning a championship is not that good of a job.
