Looking at the Phillies lineup hard to believe a team could give up 11 runs to that.  Give the pitching staff credit for making this a runaway loss.

People asked Tom Boswell about the "clubhouse poison". Boz answered, "More like a bunion. Not much one way or the other".
You know he isn’t a team guy when he thinks the highlight of his career is winning the hr derby. He seemed more excited about that than any team win ever. Team chemistry is underrated and bunions can be very annoying. Boz is just being diplomatic, as usual.

"Long top of the 9th for Wander Suero". He earned it.

Bunions in VGK jerseys are particularly obnoxious

On the whole. I'd rather see Rainey or Klobosits than Suero.

It’s amazing he was more excited about the HR derby win than all the Nats playoff series winning teams he was part of.

Not my type of player but the stuff about him being a negative influence in the clubhouse is made up stuff.  People are just upset he left the team. Very good player. Except on the bad paths. Choices were made at the end of 2018 just like this year.

He leaves team and they immediately win the WS. No coincidence.

And now the team sucks. Coincidence? There are lots of variables in any championship run. I would say having a healthy Strasburg and Sanchez instead of Gio Gonzalez were bigger factors.  But you can believe what you want if it makes you sleep better.

Come off it, FP. I saw Willie Mays, though  not enough, since he was in the NL and the Old Nats were in the AL. Willie lit up the park. Let's wait about ten years and then talk about Soto and Aaron or Frank Robinson.

This year I think we're going to see what he can really do in the post season.  The Phillies' schedule is so easy that they will likely win the division.
Harper is their best player and will be expected to come up big.    He's been feasting on AAAA pitchers for half of the games.  Let's see how he does against consistently good pitching.

Ironic given this game and season, but I would say Corbin was the biggest factor. Replacing as your #3 a real #3-4 in Gio with someone who would have been a #2 on most staffs and a #1 on some was not only an improvement over the course of the season (and insurance against a Strasburg injury), but of huge value in the 3-man rotation playoffs.

Phils are .500 team both immediately before and after Harper. Look it up.
No hustle, poor example, extremely selfish player.  Papelbon was onto something.
Nats just gave up this year “rebuilding”.

The Nats are a sub .500 team without Harper

And no, the Phillies were a sub .500. In fact, in the three seasons prior to Harper, the Phillies were 217-269.

With that pitching staff,  they would be sub 500 with him too.
You “forgot” they also traded their two best players for a “future”.

Nice cherry picking. In 2018 they were 80-82. In 2019 they were 81-81. Big deal. What part of “immediate “ do you not understand? The Nats improved by 11 games in that period.

What was the excuse last year.

If you think one guy makes that much difference it's no use arguing with you.

Last year Nats were 26-34, Phils 28-32. So what is your point other than to change the subject?

Ok. Let’s go back to your original point. Provide some evidence he was a clubhouse poison.

So the Phillies are getting better without Harper and the Nats are getting worse
