I followed that last night, wondering if Robles is suffering from deep depression or something close to a nervous breakdown. His expression this year seemed below sad, and his swings seemed almost robotic. Same with his base-running. I was at Citifield in April or May when he stormed past second, assuming he had a triple, and was thrown out. Robles seemed over cautious after that. Almost no stolen bases -- although he would need to have gotten on base to steal. His fielding seemed OK, but hitting and base-running collapsed as the season went on.

2-7, 2B, HR, in two games of a double header yesterday. now hitting .214 at Rochester with 2 HRs and 3 SBs.

2-for-4 with a homerun and 2 RBIs today. Also a walk. I watched the walk, and Victor started by trying to bunt against a pitcher who could not throw strikes. Nearly got hit in the head when he leaned into a high inside fastball. Probably needs bunting practice before he tries that again. (Stevenson and Corbin are both pretty good. Let them teach Robles)

Incidentally, Tanner Rainey pitched an inning and must have struck out the side. Jefry Rodriguez started and struck out 8, gave up 6 hits in 5 innings.

Robles went 3-for-5 tonight with a double, but the Red Wings lost 20 - 3. Now hitting .321 with .987 OPS for Rochester.

Let Robles finish the season at Rochester. Who can know, other than the Nats organization, if Robles has figured out how to hit, or if he has found confidence again, or if he needed to play where nobody pays much attention for his confidence to come back, or if AAA pitching is so much easier than MLB pitching? Or if it's a mix of all of that.

When does their season end? No harm bringing him back for the last week.

Where is Tonya Harding when we need her? I mean some of these relievers could easily be let go. Probably 3 or 4 of them.

AAA ends about the same as MLB, as best I remember. Let Thomas play. Why bring Robles back for a few games?
