Just needs to keep hitting and hope someone gets hurt. He’s blocked at second and short.

I keep assuming he is a nice story and nothing more, but he keeps producing at each level. He's going to end up getting some burn on the big club eventually, and he'll have earned it.

Baker made a sensational behind the back catch at second tonight:

https://twitter.com/milb/status/1656810556370870272?s=46&t=VxK4vP11aMUU5dFhz5Ltrg

He also went 2-5 and is batting .355. Need to figure a spot for him.

I don't think Garcia would have made that play.

Is there a reason the Rochester “red” wings appear to be wearing brown and yellow?

As I posted on the SSS thread:

- Baker was drafted as a favor to his dad
- Baker isn't a prospect
- Baker got lucky at Fredricksburg (.318 / .352 / .394 in 18 games)
- Baker won't be able to hit at A+ (.273 / .333 / .367 in 62 games)
- Baker won't get past AA (.290 / .356 / .361 in 43 games)
- Baker will be overmatched at AAA (.355 / .422 / .463 in 32 games)
- Baker doesn't have enough minor league games to draw any conclusions <-----YOU ARE HERE
- Baker is at best a backup IF at the major league level
- Baker is an everyday player at the major league level
- Baker is an all-star
- Baker is a future hall of famer
- Baker is traded before free agency because he won't accept 13 / $600 million
- Baker posts .202 / .258 / .217 for the Mets in the first year of his 13 / $600 million contract
- Baker attacks a fan
- Baker retires
- Baker signs with the Long Island Ducks

Is it time to move the arrow down one step? Baker has played in 162 minor league games, 167 college games. Pretty much .300 average, .740 OPS. See https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=baker-004dar

Baker 3-for-5 tonight; .327 with .819 OPS over 150 ABs in 39 games.

How many games must Baker play before we can say that he is a prospect?

My guess, half season. I'd say by that point if his stats stay where they are, then his stats are better than the scouting reports.

Maybe the "experts" are full of beans? Went 2-for-4 yesterday. Now hitting .331 with .830 OPS. Minors: 168 games. College: 167 games.

I don't care who is right, I just like seeing his production. Sometimes guys do this. Get drafted and are unheralded but just produce at every level. If he earna a shot, and I think he is showing that he can do it, than he earna a shot. Play him until he stops producing.

he's gotta be better than Wilmer Difo at this point, right?
