it would certainly be interesting if Turner wins MVP and Scherzer wins Cy Young.
Stars and Scrubs. Rizzo must play fantasy.

And The Athletic article that talks up Ohtani by-the-numbers suggests that Juan Soto looks like a Hall of Famer and so does Bryce Harper. Painful.

Bring back Max. Add a respectable number three starter and a hitting OF.

seems obvious - Trade for Harper, move Soto back to left.

A respectable #3 starter is like a 7-year, $200 million contract :lmao:

Bryant for what he wants.  Max for 2 years.  Roll the dice on a bounce back candidate starter.  Still need Hudson.

You mean #3 hitter?

Corbin was an All-Star who got some Cy Young votes when he signed with the Nationals and he didn't cost $200 mil.

Max is 35 million AAV
Nic Castellanos or Kyle Schwarber be 20-25 AAV. Bryant will be 30.

So yea, a number 3 for < 20 million AAV

Mark Zuckerman said last month the Nats should look for a cheap veteran SP who can give the team 30 starts at a sub-4 ERA. :lmao:

They should also draft a young, toolsy outfielder who can skip right through the minors and hit at an elite level for the next decade.

Just turned it on after tennis so missed that.  Assume he will not pitch the 9th with a 6 run lead.  Do Dodger fans know he will be giving up lots of solo HRs in the playoffs?  They will be unprepared based on his performance in LA so far.

Lots?  I have a feeling that he won't do that out there.  No basis for predicting that other than a hunch.

Not sure what the exact stats are but he gave up a bunch over the years with the Nats in the playoffs.  You face generally better hitting in the playoffs.

He does have that history, but I just get the feeling that he won't give up as many this time.  Again, only a hunch.

Max has sure turned a non-descript season into another great season.   Is he favorite to win the cy young yet?  Another Cy Young and a great post season would get him in the all time greatest pitcher conversation I'd think.

Well, last time we saw Max against the Padres he was blowing 8 run leads and giving up grand slams to relief pitchers.

I went back through his Nats postseason stats.  His HR/9 post season was 2.3 in 2016 but then 0.0 in 2017.  Only the 7 innings though in 2017. And I believe that was the year of the relief meltdown. But no home runs that game.  Then the 2 HRs in the wild card game in 2019 but overall that year just 0.9 HR/9. So I apologize Max.

For the record though I want the Dodgers to be in a wild card game and lose that with Max giving up HRs. I suspect though that they would pitch Buelher in any such game. Well maybe Trea can make a key error.

Why exactly are you all rooting for not good things for Max and/or Trea? Seems kinda petty
