Pass. Dude is a right handed Corbin. Literally has it until he doesn't. Completely unreliable.
Phillies designated Vince Velasquez for assignment. Still only 29. I believe he is a free agent at year end anyway but may be someone to take a flyer on for next year. With a short bench he could also be an asset since he can hit. He got $4 million in his last year of arbitration so not sure what he would cost next year? $2 million? I wanna like Vince.
Gonna throw it out there: Nats need to get a reliever in the offseason. Doesnt necessarily need to be a closer, but they need someone reliable in the pen. Maybe a free agent, maybe a trade.
Jojo Gray - What a bargain...
He's a kid. He's got a shot.
Fair comment - mine was as much towards those who were lauding Gray as inevitable future starter when the trade was made...
I think we have a bunch of good middle relievers but aside from Finnegan none of them need to be in the 8th or 9th. Maybe someday, but not any time soon.
Wonder if we make a push for Stromanhttps://www.mlb.com/news/josiah-gray-relationship-with-marcus-stroman
Not sure what it would take to get him but how about take a flyer on Michael Conforto assuming he does not take a QO from the Mets. Down year from him. He seems to have been up and down batting during his career so maybe catch him on the upswing and hope Long can straighten him out long-term?
I guess a one year, prove it deal is fine, but the best outcome of that is a decent prospect at the deadlike. Also, what do we do with Yadi?
Would you give up a draft pick to sign him to a one year deal. I wouldn’t. Also, I imagine if he wants a prove it year, he could just accept the QO. I wouldn’t do a long term contract with him.
If he doesnt get a QO, we dont give up a pick. He isnt turni g down a QO. Not unless he really, really hates it there.
