If he comes back next year and is OPSing north of .800 with passable defense, he will get a solid return. Not Top 100, but good. So many trades have stress about, "Who picks up $X million left this year" and this guy will be making rookie salary.
And if he is posting back-to-back productive years and is under team control for a while, then the Nationals should probably consider holding onto him in case they found a guy who is younger than his years.
He's 33 now. He might have one more season like this. Small chance at 2. He's basically a rental. You might get a team like the Guardians who is willing to take a shot on him, but you're not gonna get anything tremendous for him
