Drew Millas, C, Washington NationalsLevel & Affiliate: High-A Wilmington Age: 23 Org Rank: 13 FV: 40+Line: 3-for-5, KNotesMillas was acquired by the Nationals as the most noteworthy part of the prospect package exchanged for Yan Gomes and Josh Harrison. In his first game with his new club, the ultra-athletic catcher hit three singles, one of which drove in two of Wilmington’s 10 runs. Even with his strikeout in the fourth, Millas has walked more than he’s fanned this year, boasting a K-rate of just 15.1% while walking 14.8% of the time.
Millas, a switch-hitting catcher like Ruiz, has consistently produced for the high-Class A Wilmington Blue Rocks. But he entered the organization behind Ruiz, Adams and Tres Barrera and perhaps others in the pecking order. In Washington’s ideal world, Ruiz and Adams are their tandem for the next half decade. The Nationals also had been high on Israel Pineda, a 21-year-old from Venezuela, who has hit for some power this season but otherwise struggled. This organizational catching depth did not exist until the deadline fire sale.
Is this guy still in spring training? I don't see him on any of the affiliates rosters.
I’m guessing he’s either hurt or working with some of the guys at extended ST
"Mason Denaburg?"
Stole third and home on the same AB tonight:https://twitter.com/natsplayerdev/status/1519831391588040704
Now at Harrisburg as his rehab assignment at Fredericksburg is complete.
We could stand to trade some of our upper level minors depth. Pineda, adams, barerra, and millas is a bit of a log jam.
