Per Janes, players made several big concessions to the owners and the owners wouldn’t budge. They are meeting tomorrow despite no optimism of any momentum toward a deal.

Watching billionaires and millionaires fight over small percentages with everything that has gone on in this world the last couple years is really tiresome.    My enthusiasm for another short baseball season will be at an all time low.   At least my hockey team (Flames) are having a good year, and I can hopefully watch them deep into the spring!

The owners really think that the fans are just going to come back. They think that fan support is a constant. This is going to really hurt baseball as a whole, and who knows if it recovers or not. Maybe it's not going to fall as hard as pro boxing did, but things aren't going to be the same.

Honestly, with 2019 being such a sweet memory, with the timing of this lockout, I don't know how much interest I'm personally going to have anymore. The owners botched this one, and botched it hard. Blow hard billionaires will be blow hard billionaires. They have ZERO connection to reality, like Lucille Bluth zero connection to reality. "It's one banana Michael. What could it cost, $10?"

Said it before and I'll say it again - 2019 was the perfect bookend to the Nats fairytale.  I'll always keep up with the team, but I don't really care what happens anymore.  MLB is its own worst enemy.

Between the series win, the shortened 2020 season, the obvious tanking, no cable subscription, and the strike? Yeah, I'm with you. I'll check the box scores on occasion, but it'll be a quite a while before I make each game appointment tv/radio every day, if ever.

We're the last REAL mlb champs of all-time. everyone else is either a result of a COVID season or the abomination that is a 14-team playoff.

Man, this sucks. I am morbidly curious to see how much attendance and viewership drops and if/when it will recover. I more curious about that then the actual product on the field. What a damn shame.
