I'm going through an exercise with my old ticket group gauging interest in a small package for next year.  We used to get 4 seats full season.  I'm having trouble coming up with half those commitments.  I'm mostly doing this because I have a ton of credit from last year, plus unused bonuses for renewing for 2021.

 Gotta wonder if some of those involved in the CBA think a significantly shortened season will be fine because of 2020, not connecting the dots that 2020 was a different animal altogether

The delay to Spring Training affects more than just the gate and television. There are now gaming partners. And a host of local and national businesses are affected. Economic impact will be real — not as large as regular season delayed — but not insignificant.

That makes me sad.    Pitcher's hitting adds so much to the game.   It's not just deciding when to pull pitchers and double switches.  It's building a batting order around a dead number 9 spot, and watching pitchers manage their way through the bottom of the line up knowing the pitcher's spot is coming up.  One big thing I'll miss is it makes the bench pretty much insignificant.   The other big problem is it is going to further make starting pitchers obsolete.   It's easier to "bullpen" when you don't have to worry about batting for your pitcher in the 3rd or 4th inning.   Also facing 9 guys paid to hit makes it harder to go deeper into games.

I agree. AL baseball isn't real baseball. I will miss the game I grew up with.

This. Let the pitchers concentrate on pitching, the hitters concentrate on hitting, and the rarities like Ohtani do both for as long as it works.

Pitchers trying to hit mostly blows. For every Bartolo Colon hitting a HR moment there are a hundred rallies that end automatically when a pitcher steps to the plate with 2 outs in the 3rd inning. Even if you disagree with that, the injury angle is surely persuasive.
