Chico

He wasn't at his best tonight, but 2 runs in 6 innings is more than alright.

YES!! Hell of a job by Chico.  Official Stat line: 6 IP 7 H 1 BB 1 ER 1 K (Season ERA down to 4.58).  This performance just attests to how solid Chico is (and how awful the O's offense is).  He clearly did not have his best stuff yet he only gave up 1 earned run over 6 innings.

Could a stat geek tell me how the official scorers determine "unearned runs"?

I don't like the Batista's stance.  Him hitting anything on the outside is  next to impossible.

Yup!  Isn't that sweet??

Right about now, that baby's got to be saying, "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ALL MY AMNIOTIC FLUID? ...and will SOMEBODY TURN OFF THE DAMN FLUORESCENT LIGHTS?"

Well, in this case, the runner reached base on an error so the run won't be earned regardless.

The orioles player that scored the run in the first inning was on base in the first place because of Zim's error  ... unearned run ...

This ump is truly awful.  The O's pitchers strike zone is twice as big as ours.

can someone inform me as to why Batista and Rob have been starting and Belly has been sitting on the bench? I think Young should be our 1B and Belly should the DH or the other way around.

I know that much, but educate me on this scenario:

Chico's on the mound, and Zimmerman makes an error to start the inning.  Later in the inning, runners are on second and third with two outs.  The runner on third was because of the error.  Both runs score.  Even though the runner on second wasn't because of error, there would have been three outs had Zimmerman made the play.  Is the second run earned or unearned?

I'd like to know the same thing.  I know he made that one start for Potomac but after that I haven't heard or seen anything about him.
