Theres no reason to tank. There isnt a once in a generation talent. More than likely, all the players being mocked to go in the top 3 will drastically change with another season.

We need to keep a culture of winning and being competitive. Of that means we get the 7th pick instead of the 4th, thats fine. We know more about Kyle Finnegan and Andres Machado than we did a month ago

I just can't cheer for them to lose.   The fire sale moved the needle on our rebuild way more than picking 5 vs 8-9 will.   Finishing out the year with some good wins brings a bunch of guys to spring training believing and wanting to win.

Agreed. Let’s see these kids do something this year.

Oh, I'd have a problem with losing even if there were a Strasburg-Ackley difference in picks. I have rooted for the Celtics when they tried to get in better position for Duncan with ML Carr's nostalgia lineups and we ended up with Chauncey Billups  who we traded. I like we are competing and learning about Kieboom and Adams and relievers. The Tankathon is a mix of sarcasm and gallows humor at the losses

Exactly. I cheered loyally from 1953 onward, so 2011 was the best since the 1960 team played in the first division until the end of the season, when they shut down Camilo Pascual from his shoulder injury. Too much losing, year after year. The New Nats felt like the Expansion Senators all over again.

I am cheering for the Nats to win.

This is where I'm at.

We just picked #11 and there was plenty of talent on the board. The baseball draft is so flat compared to other sports.

Elijah Green might be the best draft prospect in at least a few years.  Then again, so was rocker before his junior season started

We just can't match the Marlins when  it comes to tank chops.  Outclassed.

The problem for the Fish is that the last tank and win team was 18 years ago. They need a new strategy.

I just want to be in position to take the best college bat available. In this class, not sure where that lands us. Really intrigued by Brock Jones out of Stanford.

If he’s within a couple players of best hitter available I am definitely down.

Just to see andruw Jones at nationals games with a nats jersey

OK, I made some errors in my mid-day post yesterday.  Correct standings as of 9 AM 8/26 are below:

5    Miami         52-75   .409   12.0   Won 1   2-8
6    Washington   54-71   .432   15.0   Lost 1   4-6
7    CHI Cubs       56-73   .434   15.0   Lost 1   4-6
8    Minnesota   55-71   .437   15.5   Won 1   5-5
9    Kansas City   56-70   .444   16.5   Lost 2   7-3
10    Colorado      58-69   .457   18.0   Won 1   6-4
http://www.tankathon.com/mlb

6th, ahead of Chicago by percentage points, with Minnesota trailing by a half game with one more win than the Nats.
