Saw an inning of Rochester - Syracuse with Seth Romero pitching. Rochester scored on a doubles steal. Runner stole second on a weak throw by Ruiz while runner on third stole home on a hurried and off-line throw by Noll. Terrible play by the two. Ruiz is a long way from Yan Gomes right now.
(Ate dinner, came back, and Dakota Bacus has replaced Romero. Seth R: 4 innings, 4 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts. Only run the Ruiz-Noll play)
First batter I see: fly to right with runners om 1st and 3rd. Donovan Casey nails the runner at home with a powerful throw, but Ruiz drops the ball. Hmmm. Not so good. Then Syracuse scores again on a ground ball to 3b throw to first (Ford) just late and thrown back to third on a throw that skips throw through third baseman with nobody backing up. I used to tell my Little League team to hold the ball unless there was a good chance to get a runner. These guys should be better than Little Leaguers.
