Could he play third? If he develops a little more power, he's going to enter Victor Martinez realm. And thats a bat you want every day

No clue about 3B. Heck yes on LF.

My best case scenario is both Adams and Ruiz can hit and the Nationals are forced to carry a third catcher like Barrera so that Adams or Ruiz can spend time in the corners when not behind the plate.

I think there is a zero percent chance someone with 30 grade speed should play LF

All about the bat. You can live with a slow of foot outfielder who makes good reads. He may also be a first baseman if Josh Bell asks for too much.

But that would require the power to translate. Or his bat loses too much value anywhere other than catcher.

rough start in Rochester - .136 / .208 / .273, 3/22, 1HR, 2BB, 3Ks.  Low K rate is a good sign though.

Hopefully it's just getting adjusted to a different league.

Probably now...your Scherzer jersey only has an r and the z that you can juggle...

Ruiz is up to #13 in the BA Top 100.
Bleaxherreport 59, mlb 38, fangraphs 39, sporting news 11. Gray rates higher in most.

After a nasty cold streak to start in Rochester, he's ripped off a good past week. I wasn't worried about him, still is reassuring.

Keibert Ruiz, Triple-A Rochester (Nationals)—Ruiz is making a strong case to head to the nation's capital, and he tallied his first four-hit game since joining the Nationals organization as part of the return in the blockbuster trade for Trea Turner and Max Scherzer. Ruiz doubled three times and drove in two in a win over Lehigh Valley. The 23-year-old catcher is having his most complete season to date, with a career-high 17 homers and a .304/.368/.597 slash line in 64 games.

17 homers in 64 games makes it hard to imagine him being less than a 20 homer guy over a full season.  Especially for someone with his feel to hit.  If he can bat .280 with 20 homers and play average defense, he’s a star.  If he can bat .300 (very possible) with 25 homers also very possible based on this year) he’s an mvp candidate.  Let him catch for 5 years then reevaluate moving him to 1st or dh to preserve his body and bat as he approaches 30

Boras also might not like the idea of moving him off of catcher prematurely as it would limit his earning potential

his homer splits are 16 vs. righties, 1 vs. lefties.  Average is better vs lefties, but OBP this year is about the same.

So the obvious answer then is to have Zimmerman learn to catch and platoon with him.

2 bombs and a single tonight.  19 hr and a .310 avg in 268 ABs with only 33 strikeouts

Looks like both bombs came from the left side. Looking like a prodigious hitter against RHP, not so much against LHP.

When he makes it to the majors, the Nationals are going to have to invest in some platoon righties to slot in the lineup around him and Soto.
