Hockey Insiders, and certainly Blackhawk Nation, are something of a troll account, but, if nothing else, it looks like a good bit of bad blood between Kane and his bride:

StL Blues are the 16th NHL team to require proof of Covid vax or a negative test.  Guess who is not among those 16?

Brave new world.  Flyers and Bruins preseason tonight on TNT.  Familiar faces broadcasting even if a different network.  Kenny Albert and Olczyck in the booth.  Jonesy by the ice.  AND NO PIERRE!

Not NHL but ESPN+ is televising a bunch of KHL games this year.

I did not realize they have so many teams (23) including one based in Beijing. Although as I read more they are playing in the Moscow suburbs this year due to Covid restrictions in China.

Pretty dreadful game all around, really...on and off the ice.  Can't bring myself to listen to John Buccigross in the nightcap from Vegas, so it'll be baseball...

Been driving most of the day--just turned it on.  I'm so upset by the 3 teams that have already qualified for the LCS I can't take any more baseball.

I think their logo and uniform design are great.  Terrific.  But the color is off.  Would look much better if they'd used Seahawk-like colors.

Watching a bit of the Montreal and Toronto game. Did not realize Shea Weber was out of Ruhr year. Combined with Carey Price out could be a long year for the Habs.

Guy is a lunatic and not that good at hockey. They were foolish to give him a 7 year contract.

Edmonton is off to quite the start this year, and MacDavid is going for Gretzky-like numbers.

A sordid affair. Wonder if Quennville will lose his job with Florida.

https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/32543346/pittsburgh-penguins-sidney-crosby-positive-covid-symptoms

More on the Penguins "embrace" of Covid at NHL.com.

Quote
Defenseman Brian Dumoulin also entered protocol Wednesday after testing positive, Sullivan said. Crosby and Dumoulin each did not practice following a scheduled day off for the Penguins on Tuesday. Each practiced in a full capacity Monday.

"I haven't had an opportunity to talk to Sid because it happened so quickly this morning," Sullivan said. "I never had a chance to see him this morning, but I'll call him this afternoon to check in with him."

Crosby and Dumoulin, who is asymptomatic, join defensemen Chad Ruhwedel and Marcus Pettersson in protocol. The Penguins have had eight players [my emphasis] enter protocol this season.

Forward Jake Guentzel returned after missing the first game of the regular season Oct. 12, and forward Zach Aston-Reese was out the first two games. Center Jeff Carter was sidelined three games before returning when Crosby made his debut Saturday. Ruhwedel and Pettersson entered protocol Sunday.

Defenseman Kris Letang, who practiced for the first time Wednesday since entering protocol Oct. 23, is the most recent player to return after being cleared Monday. Letang, who was symptomatic, has missed the past four games.

Eichel to Vegas. Not clear if he will play this year? I believe if he does they will need to unload more players to make him fit under the cap.
