Easy solution: Take our speedy, great hitting, but below average fielding shortstop and play him in CF

below average fielding? Name a better fielding shortstop in Nationals history, or even one as good.

Espinosa and Guzeman were both significantly better fielders.

Guzman! absolutely not.  No range.  Espinosa: would have been, perhaps,  except he wasn't really a shortstop. (Only one season as regular shortstop.)

Espinosa: 13 DRS in 1,826 innings at shortstop
Turner: 9 in 4500

Best season at shortstop
2008 Guzeman: 12 DRS
2016 Espinosa: 11 DRS
2018 Turner: 8 DRS

2021 Turner: 0 DRS; -1 Outs Against Average

Turner is much improved at SS. If Garcia is the real deal they can move Turner. Of course he may be gone by then.

Has Rizzo ever made the right decision on the players he let's leave?

No...and while things may be different in Philly, from where I sit, he was well on his way to becoming a clubhouse cancer here...if he wasn't already...

Yes, he has a good track record. Zimermann, Dunn, Harper, Eaton, Desmond, etc.

Felipe “Rivera” Vazquez comes to mind even though it was a trade.

Harper's a good team player and plays hard.  The problem we have with him is that in 2018 he was throttling back his efforts in right field.
His fielding in 2018 was atrocious and it contributed to a failed season.
