isn't he past the super-2 deadline now?
It varies by year but usually mid June I believe. Others may know more here.

close. I think 115 games left is the latest the deadline has been. I think they'll be safe by 6/13. That could be debut day.
Thanks.

They already get 6+ years of control. The bigger issue is 4 or 3 years of arbitration. That's the "super two" issue. It's financial mostly

Thanks for clarifying that.  The rules are too complicated for my small brain.

Jose Tena since May 6 has slashed .279/.375/.456 against MLB pitching. He's 24. Brady House has slashed .301/.348/.573 against AAA pitching over that time period. He's barely 22.

Is it possible Brady House is still in Rochester since our current 24 year old third baseman is having a great month run? I know the ceiling of Brady House is higher than Tena defensively and with his power, but it isn't like we have an AAAA player flirting with the Mendoza line in the spot where House could be.

I think the frustration with Tena & Rosario at this point is with their defense

Maybe: promote House for 3B, demote Tena to Rochester to learn 3B.

My simple fix is wait for Josh Bell to go cold again and then Tena looks like a great DH who can cover 2B/3B in a pinch

I imagine there will be a House shirt giveaway for his debut like Wood and Crews.

Tena is the worst defensive 3B in the game.   Tena has zero HRs all year a

yeah, there is absolutely no way that Tena is blocking House. The only explanation that makes sense right now is service time manipulation. I haven't looked at details, but I assume the Nats are trying to avoid a situation where Crews, Wood, and House are all hitting FA around the same time.

He has an .878 OPS. Y'all acting like he's hitting like Judge.

Totally fine with waiting for Super 2 to pass. Rizzo will basically get a 2 season window to compete.

Tena isn't good enough to block House from the majors. Tena is another Wilmer Difo. Valuable but not necessarily needed as an everyday player. More of a utility guy in my opinion.

Tena is a significantly better hitter than Difo ever was. I do think his future is as a utility guy, but hopefully an actually good one.

Tena is still homer less. That is unacceptable to have at 3B.

Their career BAs are pretty close. Both seem to have no power.

I just looked at their numbers again. You're right, though Tena has been much better since becoming a Nat. Small sample size of course.

Or even better, someone buys a seat but then just puts their computer on the seat and displays themselves as Mr. House from New Vegas

Tena's also in a platoon.  Whenever House is called up he needs to play everyday.  Moreover, Davey's platoons are contributing to a lot of bad infield defense.

I went to a Rams-Niners game a couple years ago in LA.  Every time they blasted "whose house" in the stadium they got a loud "Niners House!" back.  Philly fans might have fun with it if they did it at Nats Park.
