Nationals @ Giants, Game 2
« Topic Start: July 10, 2021, 03:58:23 PM »
     @

Washington Nationals at San Francisco Giants
Where: Oracle Park
When: July 10, 2021, 4:05 PM EDT
Weather: 63°

Pitching Match-Up:
Jon Lester (LHP, 2-3, 5.34)
 - versus -
Anthony DeSclafani (RHP, 9-3, 2.84)

DeSclafani pitched a complete game 2-hit, 1-walk shutout in his last game against Washington on June 11. That was the game where Max left after 1/3 of an inning and the bullpen did a great job (one run on 4 hits) but the offense left them hanging.

Seven minutes to game time and no GDT thread. It's almost like no one wanted to be associated with a Jon Lester start?  :hammer:

Weak lineup, with Parra hitting 6th. Maybe Barrera has suddenly improved his hitting?

Yeah. Parra to Barrera to Robles to the pitcher's spot doesn't inspire much confidence.

Lester will go six innings.

No reason to waste relief pitchers in a Lester start.

Should be Lester’s last start of the season.   DFA him

Basically, if you dont give up an RBI to Turner, you win

How hard could Lester throw if he did not pace himself to go six innings? If if threw as hard as possible for one or two innings?

Terrible defense.  Lousy pitching.  And no hitting.  The trifecta.

I guess it's appropriate a guy named BART plays in SF.

No, Davey. No reason to pull Lester. Let him pitch

I'm trying to pay attention on when the Nats are hitting and then only the top of the order.

FredNats games are more enjoyable than this crap...

We'll be OK though...this team is built on pitching...

Bases loaded and a sac fly. This has to be the time for a serious talk with Lester.

Ugh. I think I’m ready to declare this season a bust. June was fun but it’s just ugly now.

Call up Sterling Sharp. If Lester doesn't choose to retire, then release him. Even Bobo Newsom finally had to retire. Bring up Sterling Sharp, maybe.
