Horrible.  Obviously all surgery has risks, but...wow.  This kid was a 20 year old athlete whose surgery was hardly to a vital organ.  That's the sort of thing that really shouldn't happen in the 21st century.

You wonder about clotting and ucl tears. Sounds like a clot travelled. But this has got to be a known and manageable risk. Really sad and perplexing given how many times this surgery has been done
