I hate when a Nats pitcher gets to 1 - 2 on a hitter, and then "buries" the next pitch in the dirt, hoping the batter will swing. And then buries the 2 - 2 pitch in the same spot for the same reason. And then faces 3 - 2. Why is 1 - 2 a waste pitch? If you waste 1 - 2, doesn't that put more pressure on 2 - 2?
