Former Nats Stinking it up
« Topic Start: May 23, 2021, 06:29:06 PM »
Not so good years so far for some former Nats or Nats to be with promise. Lucus giolito, Jesus Luzardo, Adam Eaton, Anthony Rendon stinking it up. Bryce Harper in a slump but overall okay. Michael Taylor as expected for him.

I believe that's about right for Taylor which is what I indicated. He's got talent but never put it together so he ends up a .250 hitter with the occasional home run.

I have no idea what your point is. I'm just saying some guys the Nats either didn't resign or traded that had promise are presently stinking the joint up. Rendon has too much talent to stay where he is for long.

Rendon is still smiling and has no reason to go anywhere.

Don't think that response was directed at anything you've said. Just a long running refrain on this board.

I meant his stats will not stay where they are. They will go up.

Most likely. But he is getting older so no guarantee he will produce up to his contract of $35 million a year.

Kintzler got bombed by the Fish tonight.  4 hits, 4 ER, 1 out tonight.  8.22 and probably headed for a DFA.

The hot starts are over - excluding the first 7 games of the season:
Eaton: .189 / .295 / .349
MAT: .214 / .285 / .313
Rendon: .208 / .296 / .361

Rendon is currently in a 1-22 slump, with only 2 HRs in May and just 3 this season.

At least on the first two, I can hear echoes of Dennis Green shouting "They are who we thought they were!"

Yeah, I'd certainly expect Rendon to bounce back

He kinda did that a few times here, too. He's dealt with some injuries this year as well.

Giolito has had two good starts in a row now. Prior to that, looks like the league was sitting on his changeup and pounding it.

Lucroy is stinking it up in AAA for the Braves.

Felipe Vasquez, formerly Felipe Rivero, was convicted on 10 counts of sexual assault on a minor.

Felipe can quit screwing around with his last name, as he will now be known by a DOC number.

I think the Felipe thing goes way beyond stinking it up on the ball field. Hope to never hear a about him again.
