3rd possibility - he looked for a full time spot and no one had one.

Lux isn't hitting.They can slide Muncy over and play Pujols at 1st some of the time, maybe against lefties

Plus he may have relaxed his requirements to stay in Southern California.

From what I read earlier Pujols has been very good still against LHP. He’ll start against them and pinch hit otherwise.

Lux can’t hit lefties.

Doesn't matter for now.  Lux is likely to be playing a lot of SS with Seager out.

oddly enough, if Pujols is going to be playing more against righties, won't his overall numbers drop to LAA levels?

Probably, but they have so many guys out that that might be better than most of their other options.
