Robles is not Willie Mays and he is not the young Barry Bonds. I saw them both. Maybe Robles thinks he's the next Mays but that's a delusion. He's not Bobby Bonds, either.

How about Gary U.S. Bonds?

With the strikeout of Dickerson only 6 players have faced Max at least 10 times without striking out, none are left in baseball.

If you order it by team games played rather than calendar dates, it looks a bit more respectable.

2009 - 17th May (33rd match)
2007 - 13th May (37th match)

You have three seasons with a hot start, then eight seasons, including this one, where the team was within two games of .500 when it reached 12 wins, then three where the team was solidly below .500, and then three dumpster fires. Of course, this really doesn't tell you much, since you have 2018, where the team was 12-16 and finished 82-80, right next to 2008, where the team was 12-17 and finished 59-102.

What's skewing the listing a bit, at this relatively early point in the season, is the varying starting dates: the present season plus 2009 and 2015 all began on 6th April, which apart from 2020 are the latest starts in 17 Washington seasons. This should become less of a factor as sample sizes increase.

Yeah. Also skewed are team-by-team comparisons outside of averages, since most teams have played 27-29 games already, while the Nats have played 24 and the Mets 22.
