We won a word series with Adam Eaton as a corner outfielder.  We need good hitters.  Falling into positional profiles is a bad tendency.  If someone can handle the position with an OPS+ of 120+, then they can only hit singles for all I care.
probably would help if we have a big bat 2d baseman to complement Yadi, but he could be a piece of the puzzle.  And I'm not sure about the no power stuff.  If he has this kind of OBP and overall hitting profile, he could be a fine leadoff or #2 hitter.

Lot's of roles to be grabbed on this roster going forward.  Go into the offseason with Soto, Bell, Ruiz, and have current roster guys grab 2 or 3 positions, that means less FA hunting and more ability to target higher profile FA like Seager.

Wasn't there a player on the Royals who was a corner OF with good defense but more suites as a leadoff guy?

He's like 33. Not sure he's a future piece at this point

eh, not a prospect path, but 3 solid years wouldn't be too strange. He's a bit contact-heavy rather than oldman skills, but as long as he makes contact, he can contribute like Howie

I was a little concerned for his left knee on that collision with Hoskins.

This flyout would have been a home run in every park except Truist Park. That's gotta sting.

You know, if we had started Yadi as the everyday left fielder and signed Semien to play 2B/3B .... the trade deadline is very different

I assume you mean, "used Schwarber's money towards Semien."

Yadi is very interesting in that he allows you to saying we need one starting infielder and a couple high quality veteran backups (think Harrison / Kendrick mold; maybe Alcides and Harrison?) and say you are more or less done with the lineup.  That frees up a lot of resources to try to assemble a respectable staff.  All you may need from an infielder is 3 or so years until House is in the house.  That could be a series of 1 year deals, or maybe there's a Daniel Murphy lurking somewhere. Ideally, there's a guy who is denied arb by a cheap team who can be signed and the team would still control (think 2020 Hunter Renfroe and the Rays).  Trust Rizzo to pick the right guy.

Pretty much. As much as I'd bet Davey wants Schwarber back, it's probably better for the team to play Yadi in LF next season. If he's still hitting like this, he's a trade chip at the deadline.

Yadi is better against leftys.  Could conceivably trade bell for more prospects, ideally a close to the majors starter from a pitching prospect rich team like the Mariners, and platoon schwarber in LF with Yadi or at 1B with zimm.  Maybe some dh abs too.  Idk, just spitballing.  I think it would be a very forced fit to bring schwarber back.  If we trade bell we need a better 1B.  If we get a dh it should be a more elite bat.  Plus we need righty’s not lefties

Only 50 ABs so far, but slashing .340/.368/.877

Want more baseballs over the wall from a corner OF, but plenty of doubles helps make up for it.

34 is old. But there isn't much tread on the tires. He should be playing everyday while Lane Thomas is scuffling.

He could at the very least be a really nice platoon DH for someone. Guy can hit.

In Denver, sit Cruz. Put YadiStar at DH and play Thomas in LF.

fits very nicely onto Tampa Bay's roster.  Cheap and left-handed DH/LF.  All their DH candidates are righties.

Well that sucks for us, Tampa is going to fleece us and send us back a busted 20-year-old pitcher with 5 career innings in low-A ball.
