And by the time they're all back and settled in we will be 10 games out of first.
Dudette, it’s still April. LOTS can happen before October.

The fact remains that 3 big off season additions haven’t gotten on the field yet.

They are having good AB’s and making pitching mistakes and base running mistakes in the first week... actually less than a week. Give it time.
That’s a bit misleading though because Zimm has hit better probably than a platoon of him and Bell.  They miss Schwarber though.

Some people here are miserable.

I’m mentally preparing for a massive rebuild after we emerge from the 2022 labor dispute. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the sport. And we have a championship to savor.

From 2012 to 2018, the Nats were 7th in runs scored. How'd all that offense work out?
You’re just sore they won in 2019.

Two of them need to match or beat career best numbers to give this lineup a chance. Not exactly the best way to build a lineup.

Not really. Glad they were able to win one during their window. I dont think many people realize how good the Nationals were from 2012-2019. They had the second most wins in baseball. Most people expected them to win more than one WS. Or at least compete for one.

Letting Harper walk won us a WS, remember? Thats what the board decided.
Still true.

I’m never going to complain they won “only” 1 championship.

Now I just enjoy the process. It’s a game.

Well apparently we don’t have 2 other big left handed bats in that situation that haven’t made their debut yet

So that was as good as it gets

2014.  2012 was too early. 2014 was a great team.

We need Schwarber and Bell back so it isn’t Stevenson getting that plate appearance.

dude, it's ok to be a bit disappointed every once at a while when we miss a chance to get back into the game.

We did get back in the game. Only down 3 after 2 shut outs in a row.

Progress

Coming up with Clay after we found Finnegan last year and Rainey the year before is pretty nice.

I still can't believe the 2017 team didn't go further.  Probably the biggest missed opportunity.  With the 2012 squad, you could understand because of the Stras shutdown, and that team was new the postseason.  The 2017 team had all the pieces.

freak Gio Gonzalez, wherever he is right now.

Eh, let him show his ass on the internet if that's what he wants to do.  Anyone who cares about their sanity will disregard the bullcrap.
