Kieboom is getting the chance to play everyday now it seems (almost).

Assuming they burn it down next few days, I wouldn't mind seeing this crew play next couple months

C: Barrera/Reetz
1B: Bell
2B: Adrian Sanchez
SS: Garcia
3B: Kieboom
OF: Stevenson
OF: Robles / Schwarber if not traded
OF: Soto

UTIL: Noll
UTIL: Palka

I know it won't happen and it is more likely we'll watch old guys like Arteaga, Brandon Snyder, and Yadial Hernandez, but I'd like if we got to see them roll out a crew of younger players who could maybe establish themselves as a bench piece or fringe starter in the future.
I should probably add we hopefully pick up a couple AAA prospects prepared to get MLB ABs in a meaningless season. A couple middle infield prospects seems inevitable.

I'm throwing trash on the field this weekend if in starting lineups someone like Mercer takes the field as a starter.

Garcia and Kieboom should only be kept in Rochester if Dave Martinez refuses to play them every day.

No reason to send Robles down. He isn't going to learn anything new after 1,100 MLB plate appearances.
Neither of them are ready for the major leagues. Neither of them need to have their service time going.

Barrera back to Rochester, presumably Gomes is coming back.

I’m assuming they want him to play everyday. I’m wondering if Avila is brought back or do they keep Rivera(?). Should have kept Lucroy.

It'll be interesting with the double header today whether Barrera is the 27th man.  I'm going to assume Gomes catches one game, to show he's back, then perhaps they try to move him before the deadline.  this may be pure roster management.  as the 27th, Barrera could catch the second game.  If Gomes is then moved, I would suppose they would not have to cut Rivera or have Barrera see Lake Ontario again.

I'd imagine you are correct. More interesting of course is who pitches the 2nd game.

No reason to send Robles down. He isn't going to learn anything new after 1,100 MLB plate appearances.

Robles has been over-powered by major league pitching. That's no place to learn to hit. Send him down to AAA where he can compete before pulling him back to the majors. He looks miserable, both in his swings and dribbling grounds, and in his expressions. Looks sadder and more nervous even than Erick Fedde does when Fedde faces a tough hitter.

Years ago, I read "Moneyball". In it, Billy Beane tells the story of his signing as a many-tooled prospect just after Strawberry, the twin superstars-to-be who were expected to save the Mets. One spring, Beane met Len Dykstra, a no-tools prospect who sneered at Steve Carlton: "That guy's got nothing". Dykstra was confident to the point of arrogance, even though he had none of the "tools" that Strawberry and Beane, or even Mookie Wilson had.

Robles seems to have no confidence. Maybe he will never have Dykstra-confidence, but he won't gain or regain it being overwhelmed. Give him a chance in AAA.

OK that the Nats let Kieboom play out the season before burying him in AA. He might bring fans to Harrisburg.

Robles the sad?? Send him to Rochester now, along with Clay.

Bring up Klobosits.

Gray and Ruiz likely heading to Rochester per Davey. Hopefully Barrera didn't wander too far.

Kieboom and Garcia to be regular starters.
