The Sunday Night baseball stat cast broadcast is more enjoyable than the regular one.

Cubs get OF Alexander Canario (No. 9 SF prospect per @MLBPipeline) and RHP Caleb Killian (No. 30) from the Giants for Kris Bryant.  Nice haul.

I've watched a lot of "cat loose on the field" videos from many sports and this is one of the best ones. Not just because the crowd is so into it, but also because the cat legit has moves.

did like the cat's use of his climbing skills to avoid capture.

Not just climbing - at multiple points he is completely surrounded by Yankee groundskeepers and escapes untouched. He makes them all look like Costanza.

The Yankees are 15-6 since the ASB and 8-1 since getting Gallo and Rizzo just before the trade deadline. Rizzo has three home runs in 9 games so far. The Red Sox GM made a snarky comment about the Yankees' deadline moves, but I expect he might be more than a little worried. The last report I saw said that Kyle Schwarber may be headed for a rehab assignment soon; they are no doubt anxious to see if that trade pans out.

there's a columnist on Boston.com Chad Finn who argues this might be the worst trade deadline set of moves since 2000 for the Red Sox.  They really need to be right about Schwarber and have Sale work out.  Houck too.

They are delaying surgery until the off-season. Seems shortsighted. So be it.

Miggy hits number 499. I imagine they will sit him tomorrow, since they have a six game home stand coming up. I was hoping to see him do it in Baltimore.

Hard to grasp that it's been 10+ years since his well publicized DUI in Florida.  He's come a long way, including AL MVP's in 2012 & 2013, and more than half of his HR's since then...

If he wanted to be a jackass I assume he could have ridden it out and gotten paid the balance of his contract (big bucks).  There must have been some sort of buyout agreement.
