It's a close cousin of an error. You have to complete a play to get an out (other than the IF fly rule).
and foul Bunt with 2 strikes, batted ball hitting a runner, batter steps out of batters box, runner leaves baseline, runner obstructs catchers throw, fan interference, and i am sure there are others...
It’s official. Pujols DFA’d.
IF he is retiring, I'd imagine the Cards bring him back for a day if there's roster room.
Average OPS this year so far is down to .705.
New dead-ball era?
like I said, it's closest to an error. Substitute the word "throw" for pitch and it's easy to see. It's a dropped pitch or wild pitch (throw). both of those are errors everywhere else on the diamond. Ball hitting a runner seems sui generis. Foul bunt is a speed of play thing. It's too easy to continually foul a pitch from a bunt stance. Contact with a pitch outside the batters box and the others you list are essentially cheating.
Miley with a no hitter through 8
The Phils/Braves game tonight has been quite the circus.
Shohei Ohtani pitches 7 innings of 1-ER ball, strikes out 10, then goes to play right field. The Angels still lose because their bullpen blows the game after he goes to the OF.
8 vaccinated Yankees tested positive, all had J&J. All but one are asymptomatic, one Phil Nevin, had mild symptoms.
