actually, I hate to say it, but in the late '77-'78, Red Sox "fans" (to use a nice phrase for them) used throw batteries at Mickey Rivers.  Red Sox and Yankees had a huge, huge fight in '76, which kind of kicked off the really abusive fan behavior of that era.  Rivers was one of the bad actors in the fight, along with Greg Nettles, but that era in Boston, Rivers being out in CF under a 20' wall, kind of meant he was the one who got abused (even though Nettles was the SOB who ruined Bill Lee's career).
NY/Philly/Boston/Chicago thing. Morons all around.

The Padres' Corbin Burnes has now struck out 40 batters without issuing a walk. ERA is 0.37

Wainwright held the previous record for Ks without a BB at 35.

I bet $1 on a five game parlay yesterday. Yankees. Astros. Dodgers. Cardinals. Twins. Kind of like the evil empire and add the Twins. The early games all won but the Dodgers lost. Today a three game parlay with the Nats, Brewers and Dodgers. Will the Dodgers let me down again?

Fernando Tatis Jr. hit two home runs last night on the anniversary of the day when his father hit 2 grand slams in one inning. It was in the same park as well (Dodger Stadium).

The Tatis, Sr. Record for two grand slams in an inning has to be the most unbreakable record in all of sports, right?

Also, Chan Ho Park gave up both grand slams. That’s a record I can’t imagine being broken either.

Mario Lemieux scoring 5 goals 5 different ways in the same game is right up there...even strength, shorthanded, power play, empty net & a penalty shot...

Is there a sixth way to score a goal?

As I recall, Pete Rose was asked what record he thought would be unbreakable, and rather than citing an offensive record like one of his own, he cited Johnny Vander Meer's two consecutive no-hitters in 1938. No pitcher since has managed to match that feat, much less been in a position to pitch a third consecutive no-hitter to break the record.

I imagine being awarded a goal when you are on a breakaway on an empty net and the defender commits a penalty that prevents you from scoring would be a sixth..

I can imagine at some point there could be a pitcher so dominant that he could throw three no hitters in a row. I can’t imagine someone will come up in an inning for the third time with the bases loaded after already having hit two grand slams. Too many factors out of players control.

Also, there is zero chance I would pitch to this person.

Tatis has 2 home runs again tonight. Not grand slams. And not in the same inning.

The second one was the first night game played at Ebbets Field.

Madison Bumgardner threw a no-hitter against the Braves today in the back half of of a double header. Since it’s a 7 inning game it doesn’t count as an official no hitter. Dumb.

Padres came back from down 7-1 to win in 11.  That is going to be a nice little rivalry.  My $$ is still on LA.

Roughned Odor is unrecognizable as a clean-shaven Yankee.
