Cubs DFA Max Schrock, isn't he the guy who some odd stat metric said was a future hall of fame when he was still in the minors?

I think Carson Cistulli when he was with FG had some sort of metric that he used to project off the radar players who could break through, which had worked several times, and Shrock did very well on it. It may be in his ftp thread

Wow. I will have to start following him.

I think we need to bring Schrock back because obviously he was on a much better career trajectory with us than after he left. :)

He did well in AA (.321 .379 .422) and wasn't terrible in AAA in the PCL (.275 .366   .381 in 2019), but hit under .200 in a cup of coffee last year.  I'm kind of surprised he was released.  He'll get signed somewhere.

Bring him back. His minor league number look decent. If Vitek Vanacek can spend five years in the minors, then maybe Schrock is ready.

Rays sign Nationals legend Hunter Strickland to a minor league deal. Can he do for Tampa what Brady just did?

Sure. If his teammates hold for him, Bryce will get nowhere near him

JZ signs a minor league deal with Milwaukee. Really sad to see how his career cratered.

And considering the payday he got why he has to subject himself to this instead of retiring into the sunset.

He's from Wisconsin.  I suspect he wouldn't have taken a shot many other places.

$3 million if he makes the big team which seems likely.

They're hoping for the next Scooter Gennett.

funny.  He did ok with the nats, and his position versatility, lefty bat, might have made him a decent fit, at least as good as Mercer.  heck, he was terrific the last year Schwarber and Bell were terrific.

Which would mean we're in contention. I'll take it.
